CIT is pleased to announce that Robert Morse is the Center’s new Director of the Office of Information Technology (IT) Services Management, reporting to CIT Deputy Director Stacie Boyd.
In this role, he will oversee CIT’s service areas and the delivery of IT services that support the scientific research and business operations at NIH’s institutes and centers (ICs). By working with CIT leadership and service area managers and collaborating with ICs, Mr. Morse will help define the scope as well as provide technical expertise, strategic planning, and leadership for both local and enterprise IT projects that will continue to drive the delivery of efficient business operations and scientific innovation across NIH.
Prior to joining CIT, Mr. Morse worked for the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, where he served as the chief of the Cloud Technology and Hosting Office. In this capacity, he was accountable for a budget of over $45 million; he led the agency’s cloud computing strategy and roadmap for the Federal Judiciary; and provided a broad portfolio of systems hosting and cloud computing services to federal courts across the country. Mr. Morse also served at the United States Courts as the Chief of the Technology Management Services Division and the IT Project Coordination Office.
Before joining the federal government, Mr. Morse served in the United States Navy as a nuclear power instructor. He is a credentialed Project Management Professional (PMP) who holds certifications in project management and IT Service Management (ITIL). He also has two Master of Arts degrees: one in Mathematics from the University of Maine and the other in Theology from St. Mary’s Seminary and University. Mr. Morse earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of Maine.
