The NIH Catalyst, a newsletter highlighting NIH intramural research, has published an article about a new mouse-behavior monitoring system developed by the Signal Processing and Instrumentation Section (SPIS) in CIT's Office of Intramural Research (OIR). Staff from OIR’s Mathematical and Statistical Computing Laboratory (MSCL) also played a part.
The new System for Continuous Observation of Rodents in Home-cage Environment (SCORHE) that SPIS developed includes custom video and video analysis tools that can quantify mice's activity and behavior for short and long durations.
SPIS is a section of the Computational Bioscience and Engineering Laboratory within CIT's Office of Intramural Research.
You can read the full article on the NIH Catalyst site.
More information on SCORHE is on the SCORHE site.
