NIH Central Email Service (CES) is a centralized email messaging service with the following features:
Standard mailbox offering of 1 GB of storage
Outlook Web Access (OWA) for mailbox access via the Web
Robust Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus protection for all mailboxes
Instant Messaging Services with presence information
Wireless messaging for BlackBerry and ActiveSync devices
Additional and optional services include extended storage capabilities (Large Mailbox), and Secure Email/File Transfer Services.
Email High Availability/Disaster Recovery for critical users and VIP mailbox services are determined by ICs.
CIT provides customers with a robust, fully featured, centralized email service.
This service is available to all NIH customers.

Q: How can I make sure my legitimate email does not end up in the spam filter?
A: CES’s Anti-Spam protection
includes safelists; by adding a specific sender’s email address to a safelist, you ensure that mail from this sender is sent directly to your inbox without going through the anti-spam scanners. You can also add a specific domain name to the safelist so that all email messages with the specified domain in their sender address go directly to your email inbox. Q: Can I block specific senders so I don’t get their messages at all?
A: Yes. To block a specific sender, add the sender’s email address to a blocklist. You can also add a domain name to a blocklist so that all email addresses containing the specified domain are blocked. Blocklists prevent all email from a specified sender from reaching your inbox.
